AI-search and page-speed diagnostics

Review how your content can be reached and used.

Check supported crawler settings, identifiable AI referral visits, and available page-speed information. Keep known results separate from missing information.

Separate search from training

Review crawler purposes separately rather than treating permission for model training as the same thing as search visibility.

Review identifiable AI referrals

Use supported GA4 referral information. It does not capture every visit from every AI search experience.

Review speed information

Use available field and test data to identify areas worth investigating in your site setup.

The workflow

  1. Connect the site
  2. Review collected data and status
  3. Choose settings or presentation to improve

An example

Check whether a useful article is also presented on a usable page, rather than focusing only on the text.

What you can do on screen

  • Configure under Settings > Integrations > AI search and page speed. robots.txt is read once a day, and crawlers used for search display are shown separately from those used for training.
  • AI referrals are counted only when GA4 can identify the source. Visits from Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode cannot be separated and are not counted.
  • Search Console’s generative AI performance report can be reviewed by importing its CSV export.
  • Page speed shows field data (CrUX) assessments separately from lab scores.

What to know

Diagnostics do not automatically change your theme, robots.txt, or server settings. They do not guarantee inclusion in AI answers.

Does this complete all AI-search optimization?

No. It provides specific diagnostic information. Content reliability and other site factors still require attention.

Can it count visits from AI Overviews?

No. They cannot be distinguished from regular search visits. Import Search Console’s generative AI report as CSV to review impressions.
